I Want To!!!

Hello Friends!

I haven’t posted in a while, so I was thinking on what I would have to offer. I do not write a blog just for the sake of writing. I also realize that I should write more often than I do. I want something worthwhile, something valuable, something you might relate to.

I was listening to a friend relate a portion of a sermon her pastor had preached. He was speaking concerning Christ in Matthew 8:2-3. This was where Jesus had just come down from the mountain. A leper came and worshipped him and said, “Lord if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.”  Then Jesus said, “I will. Be thou clean.”

The pastor went on to say what it really meant was, “Lord if you want to, you can make me clean.” And Jesus said, “I want to.”

Those few phrases have rang in my mind many times since I heard them first.  “I want to.”

Why would this sinless man want to cleanse and set me free?   A Gentile, I am so undeserving of his wondrous mercy and grace. Yet he said, “I will!” “I want to.”

Oh how loved I feel by the Savior.  “I want to.”

Lord Jesus,
Thank you for having mercy on me. Thank you for your compassion and healing virtue, that flows like a river to cleanse and make me every bit whole. I am so glad that I can call on you any time of the day or night and you will hear and answer my prayer.  I am so very glad that you want to!!
                                                                                                                                                 Amen

I hope you received the blessing that I did as I thought and pondered on the three little words.
“I want to!”
All have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,
Kathy

"Keep Going Anyway!!"

Well "time marches on" they have said for as long as I can remember. Again, it has been a long while since I have posted on this blog.

Can I be honest with you? I didn't know whether to keep a blog or not.
Does anyone read my blog? If so, is it interesting? Does it hold your attention?

After much soul searching I have decided to keep going. I really do have much to contribute.
Everyone has something to contribute. Have you ever felt, "No one is interested in what I have to say." Or, "I really am not talented at anything." "I don't have anything to offer."

You have something to offer, something to contribute. My mother told a story of a woman who never said a bad word about anyone. One day the worst man in the community died. Folks said,"We've got her now. There is nothing good about ole "So and So." When they asked her if she heard he died, she said, "You know, he sure could whistle good." Even the worst man in the community had something to contribute.

"Keep going anyway. " Life gets discouraging and sometimes no matter how hard we try it seems we fail. Keep trying! Eventually you will succeed.

I realize I haven't posted any pictures. After leaving Blogger for so long, a lot has changed, including how to add or insert pictures. I will have to learn how to correct or remove photo's from the posts.
I have decided that if there are those of you willing to check in with me every so often, "Nanny Kathy's House just might be a pleasant place to visit.

I enjoy reading, crafts, and decorating. These will be included from time to time.

It would be nice to hear from some of you. You may leave a comment below.
Please keep all comments free of profanity and in good taste.

Until next time, let's keep on going. Keep on keeping on.

Blessings,
Kathy

Glad To Be Back

Hello!

Welcome to Nanny's House. It's been a long while since I've seen you.

Well, a whole lot of livin' has happened since my last post.

My father became ill and passed away October 26, 2012. While Dad was ill we moved
out to their place in the country and just never left.

Yesterday, was Mom's birthday. Over the weekend on Saturday, we gave Mom a surprise birthday dinner/party. She was so surprised and happy, she cried.

She said she could only remember two really happy birthdays in her lifetime. This one and another, a long, long time ago.

Mom was 14 when she married. She lacked nearly 2 weeks being 16 when I was born. When I was a little over a year old, Mom was expecting my sister Vicky. Dad worked nights. They lived way out in the country upon a mountain. Mom drew water out of a well to do dishes and did her laundry in a wringer washer.
On this night, it was her birthday. Dad was at work. I suppose I was asleep. The house was clean, but Mom had stacked her dirty dishes neatly on the counter. She saved them to have something to do later in the evening.
Mom heard what sounded like a car, so she went the door and looked out. There were many car lights coming around and up that mountain. She said, "I remember wondering if something happened to James." (My Dad)
There were all these fancy cars that pulled up into the yard. A lot of ladies got out. Mom said she only knew one. Her name was Joanne. Mom and Dad rented the little house we lived in from Joanne and her husband Joe.
Joanne and all these ladies came in. They brought in a cake and gifts. Some of the ladies drew water out of the well, heated it, and washed her dishes. They sang Happy Birthday to her and served her cake.
She said she was shocked, then embarrassed because she had left her dishes and they washed them. But most of all, she felt so good inside because these ladies went out of their way to make a very young wife and mother, a long way from her family, very happy on her birthday.

You know, I realize times and people have changed. But if my daughter had to move a long way from home, and I could not be there for her birthday, I hope there would be someone, kind and thoughtful to make her day a special one.

I believe I could sit for hours, listening to these precious memories of long ago. They teach wonderful life lessons and remind me of what is really important.

So very good to be back.

Blessing to you all,

Kathy

A Watered Garden

Easter will be here before we know it. I just thought I would share my Peter Cottontail waterpot. I have had this waterpot for many years and wanted to display it this year at this time. I have it on a tray in my bathroom.

This water pot reminds me how lax I become about watering my plants. I am so glad that our Lord isn't like me. His word says in Isaiah 58:11 "And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, whose waters fail not."  Now let me tell you, He has certainly made my bones fat these last few years. I guess I can't blame that on Him. Although, He certainly never fails to meet my needs and blesses me with good things.
Since I have been sharing groupings from my bathroom, I thought I would share this wall arrangement in my bath, over the vanity. My pictures are not the best, as I am taking pics with my phone camera. Will get my camera ready and get some nice ones a little later.

Well, I hope everyone has a great week and weekend. May God water your garden and bless you with good things!!

Blessings,

Kathy

The Best Things In Life Are Free

Today may be cloudy, but just sniff that fresh air. The sun may not be shining  (where I'm at anyway), but it sure is shining inside me
.
Family and friends make a wonderful difference in the way we view life.

Dolly Partons' song "Coat of Many Colors", makes a wonderful statement. While she was telling the story of how proud she was of her new coat, the children were laughing and making fun of her. She said, "I couldn't understand it, for I felt that I was rich. And I told them of the love my Mama sewed in every stitch....... And I told them all the story Mama told me as she sewed and how my coat of many colors was worth more than all their gold."
It wasn't the coat, or its beauty, or its value. It was the time with Mama and the love Mama poured into making something out of nothing for her loved little one.

If you are having a down day, spend some time with a loved one or someone who has no one. Pour a little sunshine into their lives, and the sun will come out for you.

My daughter came by when I was feeling a little low and said,"Come on Mom, we're going somewhere." She is really not interested in antique shops or flea markets, but she took me to my favorite shops, then took me to lunch.

The sun came out inside and outside for me. Hope it does for you too!!!!

Blessings.

Kathy
